We are pleased to present the Honorable Melissa T. Pavlack, Family Court Administrative Judge and Attorney Richard P. Focht, Family Court Administrator to share their insight on the following Family Court topics:

Ways in which paralegals can assist family law lawyers
The Honorable Melissa T. Pavlack received her Doctor of Laws degree from Widener University School of Law in 1989 and was admitted to the Bar of the Pennsylvania Courts in November of 1989. She has been an active member of the Family Law Sections of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Lehigh County Bar Association and served as President of the Lehigh County Family Law Section for two years. Judge Pavlack was elected Judge of the Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas in November 2017. She is the Administrative Judge of Family Court.
Attorney Richard P. Focht is the Family Court Administrator and a Custody Hearing Officer for the Court of Common Pleas of Lehigh County. Prior to working in the Family Court Office, he was in private practice for many years. Atty. Focht is a cum laude graduate of the Widener University School of Law and a graduate of Kutztown University. He taught the Family Law course in the Paralegal Program at the Lehigh Carbon Community College for several years. Attorney Focht is a past President of the Bar Association of Lehigh County and a past President and Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Lehigh Conference of Churches.
