Title: “Coming to America: A Look at the Current Chaos in Immigration Law”

This presentation will give an overview of several topics on immigration law including the consequences of criminal convictions for the various categorizations of immigrants.  A new Supreme Court ruling found that “aggravated felony” convictions that led to the deportation of legal immigrants was unconstitutionally vague.  What impact will this have on the deportation of legal immigrants?  This course will also delve into new questions brought about by the current administration’s controversial stance on immigration.  The program will define Deferred Action on Childhood Arrivals (Dreamers) and take a look at new Federal Court rulings on DACA, The Supreme Court upholding President Trump’s “Muslim Ban”, and the recent Federal Court rulings on the forced separation of immigrant families.
